When Andrea and Louis Phyrillas’s son Teddy was diagnosed with severe autism, they learned that changes in diet (including eating healthy organic produce) would be key to his recovery. Already struggling with mounting bills from doctor visits, they didn’t know how they would afford this change.

Then they joined Rodale Institute’s Agriculture Supported Communities program, which provides affordable organic produce to families in need.

“It’s like a fog was lifted,” said Andrea. After changing his diet, Teddy began hitting huge milestones for autistic children like speaking and answering questions. “As a parent, there’s nothing like having this connection with your child for the first time.”
